From what I understand, when one puts down their deposit with the dealer, they should have entered your order online in their account at Subarunet.com "Sold Order" system and a VON # (vehicle order number) is generated meaning the vehicle is now in the dealer's "pipeline". Subaru customer service reps would have your name in their system under an assigned VON # if you and your vehicle were an active "allocated" sold order -explanation to follow.
My dealer was allocated 10 BRZs for the May-November allocation period. On March 21, I was BRZ customer #11. I have a VON # as the dealer printed out a Summary showing the exact car I ordered with my name on it. But, when I called Subaru customer service yesterday, they had no record of the VON # or me ordering a BRZ. That did give me a bit of concern and the extremely nice Subaru rep called the dealer right away (not knowing I was #11). My salesman contacted me immediately. Turns out, Subaru's customer service reps only see the vehicles that were "allocated" for each dealer. So, as #11 of 10, I am in limbo until they open the next round of dealer ordering allocations where I will then be #1 on the list. Best case scenario is that when my dealer's 4 - "VIN numbered" "June" cars begin to be delivered; my name might then move up and appear down at the bottom of the ten slot "allocated" list! I doubt it. I've pretty much resigned to the possibility I'll take delivery sometime in 2013. Waiting sux!
I would suggest you ask your dealer about the VON # for your car and see if they have an explanation why Subaru "has no idea". Hopefully, they have a dealer assigned VON # for your ordered vehicle and maybe they just don't have your name associated in the Subaru ordering system! Hope you get it figured out!!!
