Replace entire OEM clutch assembly, or disc?
So my clutch has been soft lately, 39k miles. Thinking of replacing it- do I need to buy the whole clutch assembly or can I just replace the disk?

If it needs a clutch, you replace the disk, pressure plate, and throw out bearing at the least. Flywheel needs to be replaced or machined. Quote:
This. I doubt it needs to be replaced at that mileage. Depends a lot on what you mean by "soft" as clutches take a while to break in correctly and once they do, they're not as grabby. |
I have plenty of pedal feel, it's just that the car doesn't take off at low rpm's like it used to. Sometimes it seems to muddle around when I'm starting in 1st, grips, and then lets me take off slowly. No longer catches well at low rpm, I should say.

Doubt it's the clutch in this case as if it was actually slipping, it would slip much worse at the torque peak in the powerband.

I can just tell the clutch doesn't feel as good, I can hear it more, and it doesn't let me take off as well as I used to. Since my clutch bearing is also worn, I might just replace the whole assembly. |
I can't imagine how the car bogging down could be clutch related. Also how do you know your clutch bearing needs replacement?

Are you running stock power/GQ. Any boost?
