New MAP sensor question

Hey guys, I understand that the stock MAP sensor can only read up to ~6 psi, and that is what I am seeing in Torque.

If I were to upgrade my MAP sensor to something like a 1 or 2 bar sensor (something from delicious tuning for example) would torque be able to read PSI more accurately without making any other changes to the ECU software?

TL:DR: Can I upgrade my MAP sensor to get a more accurate PSI reading without also getting a new tune at the same time.

Thanks!

You'll have to change the tune as the MAP sensor calibration has to match the new sensor. After that though Torque should be just fine.

Your problem isn't really that you can't see the right boost on Torque, but likewise the ECU doesn't see how much boost you're actually making, which would make me very nervous.

yes, you are correct, it is risky. Waste gate spring and manual boost controllers are my "failsafe" right now. Nothing is set higher than my AVO map tune right now.

Thanks for the help! Looks like I will dip into the funds sooner rather than later.
