Getting A Better Ride, or how to setup and adjust your Airlift struts

Hi to all you airlift bagged FRS, GT86, and BRZ drivers! This thread is about how to setup and adjust Airlift suspension, Not an invitation for Hater bashing. I drive my BRZ as a work car doing onsite computer repair.

I also use my BRZ to tow our kayaks.

Life's too short to drive a hybrid, or any other car which is no fun. Occasionally I have to drive up steep driveways and even steep unpaved driveways/roads. I normally drive at stock height and raise it up for clearance as needed. So, what is your normal ride height, and what dampening settings do you use?

lmao how do you fit all that in the trunk? Is your air setup in the spare tire well?

Yes, and I'll have pictures of my setup as well. I used a 1 gallon water pressure surge tank mounted beside the spare tire well for an air tank. It even has a bleeder valve on the bottom. I had problems getting the strut mount heights adjusted correctly. Brian from Airlift was a great help. Seems nobody wants to use these to raise their vehicle, so Brian sold me a pair of STI lower mounts to bring the back height up another 1.5". I can't slam it down quite so low, but it can go above stock height with air pressure alone. I'm interested in hearing what people are running for dampening on these struts. I'm running;
Front - 25 clicks from full hard
Rear - 26 clicks from full hard
I'll measure the height later and post that as well.

Any progress on those setup pictures? Curious to see how you've got your tank(s) set up. From what I understand you have a regular tank and a reserve 1 gal mounted beside the spare tire well? Or just a 1 gal. tank, period??

The idea of an airbag suspension seems really interesting to me, although I'm just not sure how it would realistically hold up to winters/salt/etc.

my range rover bags lasted nearly 16 years before i replaced a single one, I'm sure it will be fine.

I'm curious about getting airlift setup. I really really don't know much about it.

Is it able to drop the factory ride height at least 2"?
- Would it be able to withstand track time? Or is this purely cosmetic?

Can it raise the factory height at least 1-2"?
- My car gets towed every now and again due to miscellaneous failures due to having high horsepower. My bumper scrapes as it is right now getting onto tow trucks.

Thanks

Is it able to drop the factory ride height at least 2"? Yes. More can be attained. These have coil-overs are part of the system, so it all depends on your initial height setup.

Question on the initial height setup. So you can set it up that when the car is parked, it can be 2" from stock only. Then driving around 1" lower from stock. Then can raise it more than stock?.
Reason I ask is I dont want to slam the car. Only reason Im interested is for winter purposes.i've been stuck a couple of times already this winter coz the car is just low.
Thanks so much!
