Door Chime Question
So I've searched and can't find the situation I'm in.
The door chime that usually occurs if you open the door before shutting the engine off is happening in reverse order. Anytime I open the door after unlocking it it beeps until I close the driver's door, and same thing once I shut the car off until the driver's door is closed again the door chime goes on. Started happening after I got it tinted. Any suggestions? |
Did the tint shop guys or you disabled auto up/down when door is closed/opened, maybe that's what causing the chime?
|
I thought that was normal?
|
If you shut off the engine and then open the door, it shouldn't chime... At least my doesn't unless you do it in reverse order , open the door and then shut the engine.
|
Nope the windows still index properly, I'll double check the sensor. But agreed the door should only chime if you open it before shutting the engine down. Mine is chiming when I unlock it and open the door before starting the car and after I shut down the car and then open the door it chimes until I close the door.

Pretty sure mine does this and has since I bought it a couple weeks ago. I wondered if it was the cars way of telling you the fob was still in the car.

Just to close this out, it was due to what I thought, the body control unit had failed. Replaced and it's fixed.
