Clicking noise from left rear control arm?
 

Was looking for some insight regarding an issue i'm having with my fr-s. When I put the car into 1st and 2nd gear and accelerate I've noticed a "ticking/clicking" noise. It only does it for the first few seconds when the car is shifted into 1st and 2nd gear and then stops. Sounds like its coming from under the car as opposed to under the hood. Its loud enough that it can be heard from inside and outside the car from 10-20 yards away. The best way I could describe it is that it sounds like I have a nail or screw stuck in one of my tires when I drive (tires were actually checked to make sure this wasn't the case).
Car was taken to the dealer this week and the noise was found to be coming from the left rear control arm, although no specific problem/defect was found. Dealer loosed the control arm bolts, repositioned and retorqued all the bolts and the noise went away. 3 days later and the noise is back..

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem? Car is completely stock. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hmmm - keep after it. Hope it's not the axle or CV or something like that. I am not sure how a control arm would click with rotation. I could see getting fooled into thinking it was the source, though.

Does the clicking speed up with acceleration or stay at the same tempo?

My car did exactly that. Took it to the dealership, they found that one of the bolts on the axle wasn't torqued to spec. They fixed it, and it's been a month with no issues.

+1 had same exact issue as you. The dealership torqued it to spec and I never heard the noise again

No the clicking doesn't speed up with acceleration, its the same tempo. I'm a little concerned after reading some threads on here though. The noise sounds exactly like the one described in this video:

It seems relatively common for the axle nuts to require re-torquing, that would be my first guess with any rear end click on this car.
