Labor time to replace pump and injectors?
I did a search, but I did not find this topic discussed before...
If you've had a shop swap out your injectors and fuel pump, how much did it cost for labor? Thank you in advance. |
Pumps are usually an hour billable, injectors are 2 - 3 on an EJ / FA.

I did my pump in about 30 minutes and shop charged me an hour labor for injectors

IMHO injectors are quicker than the pump if you have the disconnect tool. It took me about an hour in my driveway to change the injectors but I did have PnP harnesses.
The pump is a pain not only to remove but then you have to hack up the canister to fit the new pump and fuel sock. Then you need to figure out the o-ring and factory sock song and dance. Put everything back together and not kink any of the hoses. |
I would say pump takes longer than injectors. Most shops are going to charge based on book times regardless of how long it takes though. I would say budget for 3 hours x whatever your shop's labor rate is which can vary from $50 an hour to over $150 an hour.
