Blue Coolant turning green?
So i noticed my coolant was low so I went to the dealer and bought some. It was blue before i put it in and now its green/really dark blueish green. I assume its not suppose to change colors on you. Has this ever happened to someone?

1) The dealer sells coolant different than what comes stock in then the FR-S and BRZ are shipped with (kind of doubting that) 2) Chemical reaction with the old coolant which has small metal particles from the block mixed with new coolant? 3) Maybe the mixture is wrong Whenever I plan on adding coolant, I usually go the extra mile and just flush everything out anyway and replace it all with new coolant to prevent possible mixing issues, but that's just me |
What coolant did you buy? Did you buy the "Super Coolant"?
https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...94036708_n.jpg You could of bought the wrong Subaru coolant (the green one), which is "Long Life". [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Subaru-Long-Life-Coolant-SOA868V9210/dp/B007L72U1C"]Amazon.com: Subaru Long Life Coolant, SOA868V9210: Automotive[/ame] THIS IS THE WRONG COOLANT. My coolant HAS NOT changed color. It is still blue. |

I work at a Subaru dealership. You need the premixed 50/50 Super Long Life Coolant (All Subs 2010 and up). Not the older Long Life Coolant that isn't premixed (Subs 2009 and older).
