pulley size for Rotrex

What boost are the Jacson Racing and Kraftwerks supercharger kit ? Do they offer different pulley sizes, i can't find anything about this except for the Vortech kit.

I know this is a weird question but the thing is i want to run LESS boost, don't ask why, i just need to make less power than what the kit makes out of the box.

So, any pulley change can be done, are they available for sale with a different belt?

thanks

Screw it I'm asking.... Why?

puma 05-28-2014 08:55 PM

lol, building a race car and we are limited on the amount of horsepower we can run, NA doesn't make enough power to be competitive but every FI there is is giving too much for our rules. Only the Vortech i can find a pulley to run 6 PSI.

Freeman 05-28-2014 09:15 PM

Interesting. What are the Whp limitations?

You can always run a restrictor plate if you need to cut top end power...

Is it a hp/lb class? If so, you might be able to play with weights a little bit ;)

CSG Mike 05-29-2014 02:54 AM

110mm is the diameter on the JR kit.

Have you considered lowering your redline instead? You can always run a different final drive as well, to get your powerband in the RPMS you need it in.

yes it is a hp/lbs rule, we intend on running the car at a really low weight. Also, the thing is that the rule might change from one year to another, we might need to remove 20hp for the next year so either that or we need to had like 240lbs...

I guess i'll have to play with timing, i just thought it was nice from Vortech to be able to swap pulley to get a lower boost or higher boost when needed.

Area under the curve my friend. That is all I am going to say.

KraftWerks 05-29-2014 01:57 PM

@puma, due to our kit utilizing a divorced belt system, we can send our kit with a larger pulley and less boost OR a smaller pulley for more boost. As @CSG Mike stated, you can also lower the redline to limit boost/power.

You can always send any pulley to NonStopTuning and have a variety of custom sizes machined to your specs.

Wouldn't you have to stop tuning to machine it to their specs?

How do you machine a smaller pulley to become a larger pulley? :D

NonStopTuning 06-12-2014 05:41 PM

NonStopTuning has offered custom pulleys, in various sizes, since 2005. You send us your pulley, we pull measurements, and build you a custom pulley in any size and/or pattern your project requires.
