MT have less power than AT

I was looking at Blitz japan products and with his new ECU (B-EMU Stage2) the dyno says that MT could reach 187.5 PS and 199.6 nm of torque. The AT reach 197.5 ps and 215.8 nm.
Why is the MT less powered?
Look at this

That is quite interesting. I'm looking forward to an answer.

Hmm.. Wow, same here. Would like to see a more insight view on this

what? No way. ATs are regularly slower on the dyno on MTs.

I wasn't expecting it to be in Japanese lol. I think a lot of members can easily debunk this though. Hell if the accusation is true all hell will break loose on this forum ha.

It also says the MSRP is 50k yen.. Thats a little under 500 dollars. Something's wrong with that website.

50k yen is referring to the their "step-up" program, which I'm assuming allows you to upgrade from their stage 1 tune to stage 2, after you also purchase the stage 2 tune.

When evasive motorsports did the dyno day, my car put 175 at the wheel, another auto did 176, the majority of the manuals put down less besides robispec and of course the supercharged cars of evasive and Robert of staycrushing. We figured it was the gear ratio..

Ahhhh i see. Spent 2 years living in Japan and only learned the greetings lol. :iono:

Like someone else mention. More than likely has to do with different gear ratios.

Don't get too excited. They probably have a dyno which needs gear ratios entered manually. They probably forgot to do this. Look up a few compares drift office have done in the past. They show the difference between running in different gears on their dyno.

4th gear in auto is same as 5th gear in manual: 1:1. Same rear end gearing I believe.

dem00n 05-20-2014 11:46 AM

Perhaps the awkward gearing in the auto really does help out...

cycleboy 05-20-2014 11:55 AM

The title is misleading.

MT doesn't "have" less power. The engine is the same, they have the same power. It does make sense that due to gearing or losses one or the other could put less power to the wheels at peak.

Sorry for being anal, the title just threw me a bit.
