CEL thrown: P0073
 

I searched the forums, and couldn't find anyone else with this CEL. I was cruising at 45mph, no load on the engine, and the CEL just popped up.

P0073: Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High (See Update below)

I have an Innovate supercharger with Delicious Tuning tune. Has anyone else experienced this? I went ahead and reset the code for now, and it hasn't popped back up. Looking at this CEL on other car forums, seem to indicate the sensor needing to be replaced.

Thoughts?

UPDATE: I believe I misinterpreted the code. My P3Cars gauge showed C073, and I assumed it was P0073. I'm now finding that it's actually U0073.

Have you got this CEL before? It sounds like it was a simple BT communication issue for you?

That's for U0073, which is the communication bus error you get from having Torque already running when you start the car.

P0073 is a different code for ambient air temperature sensor. OP, are you certain it was P and not U? The Torque code is pretty common.

Crap - I think you're right!!! It was on my P3 gauge, and showed "C073". I found another thread on a different forum, indicating this was hexadecimal for U0073.

So, I think I misinterpreted the C073 error.

Were you running Torque when it happened? That's what usually causes U0073. You can avoid it by making sure that Torque is NOT already running when you crank the car.

If you forget to shut off Torque, just use Torque to clear the code. I'm amused by the fact that the tool you use to clear it is the tool that causes it in the first place.

No, I wasn't running Torque. The P3Cars gauge is always plugged into the OBDII port, so I'm thinking it's behaving the same as if I had a bluetooth dongle for Torque plugged in.
