difference in offsets
 

looking at enkei pf01s in 17x8. My two choices for offsets are +48 or +35. If I'm not mistaken, the 35 offset would poke more than 48. Would it be a noticeable difference? I'm wanting to get a flush look on the car so would the 48 require spacers to get a flush look. Lowered on h&r super sport springs. Thanks in advance!

the link to the 35 offset doesn't have a pic from the side to compare. Also curious as to how the 1.4 inch drop compares to just a 1 inch drop.

According to the charts, +35 will be 1mm past flush at a 1" drop, so it'll probably be fine for a 1.4" drop. You could actually run the +35 with a 5mm spacer in the back to bring it out to just under flush at a 1" drop.

oh never thought of that. I'm more interested in the 48 offset because they are available on tirerack which I trust more. Tirerack does not have the 35 offset. The 48 offset would be more sunken in than the 35? If I'm not mistaken the 17x8 +48 pf01 would poke more than stock due to the extra width or is that a false assumption?

A 17x8 +48 will stick out an extra inch over the OEM 17x7 +48. The offset (+48) is measured from the mounting surface to the inner edge of the wheel. So if that stays the same between the two wheels, the inner edge will stay the same in relation to the suspension and the additional inch will have to be on the outer edge, effectively sticking out an inch beyond the OEM wheel.

The +48 wheel could be run with a 10mm spacer, making the effective offset +38. I'd just get the +35 and call it a day. For the back, you could get a 5mm spacer instead of a 15mm spacer. Spacers above 10mm or so get expensive because of the need for longer or additional studs.

what if I run the 48 offset without any spacers at all? Ft86speedfactory has rpf1s, not pf01s.. Thank you for the quick replies

If you run +48 with no offsets it'll look a little less sunken in than the OEM wheels, but not by much. You'd need spacers to get a decently flush look to the car.

Also, search the vendor classifieds for PF01. There are a few forum vendors that carry them, in both offsets. It looks like @OAKOS Automotive sells them here. With free shipping. Although apparently with a +45 offset.

the 38s wouldn't require a spacer?

The +38s are a 17x7.5. That's flush at a +29 offset at a 1" drop. So probably a 10mm spacer for a 1.4" drop. In the front.

What size tires are you looking to run?

17x8 +35 looks good.

Tyre wise, depends on what you want to achieve. 235/40 seems like the most popular choice for that rim.

Personally, I run 205/40 on 8's. Because drift.

ok 235/40. And I like turtles too. I'm going to try to find a vendor that I trust to purchase the 35s from.

i spoke to a salesman on tirerack and he informed that the +35 offset are actually in stock in a 17x8 pf01. yet he did not sound too assuring that they would fit i dont know why. is the 17x8 +35 pf01 lowered on h and r super sport springs a safe bet?
