How often do i need to change/bleed brake fluid (DoT 5.1)
Quick question. I have done 2 track days, plus around 5.000km with Pentosin Racing Brake Fluid (DoT 5.1)... how often do i need to change/bleed this fluid??? Thanks!!!

I do mine AT LEAST once every 6 months I run Motul RBF600, which is racing fluid, and is more prone to absorbing water. In general, racing brake fluids need to be replaced more often, even if mostly street driven. If tracked or autoXed regularly, even more often. If you're going to keep tracking your car, bleeding every 4-6 months, or when the fluid turns brown, or when it runs low, is a good rule of thumb.

Brake fluid can run low? :-B

How does your brake pedal feel? If it is not good, them change it. General maintenance from owner's manual requires change every year.

brake pedal feels different (bit soft... brakes work well thou) if compare to how it was before the first track day... but that can be the pads and rotors right?
On an other fluid related question... Clutch feels a bit soft after the track days... nothing MAJOR, but a bit softer... what could be the reason for this? Im a track noob, and even bigger mechanical noob... so sorry for dumb questions =) |

Most definitely just have some bubbles in your lines. No biggie, just bleed them. Firm pedal feel will return with a quick bleed job. |
Is there a trick to getting the brake fluid out of the reservoir?
A turkey baster just reaches the top 20%. |

You can use the turkey baster to get it down and then fill it up with new fluid and bleed the brakes until you have new fluid in all the lines. |
