Perrin Performance Drift Button (Doriftu Switch)

Perrin Performance Drift Button

In the lab we have the new Perrin Performance Drift Button. Big shoutout to my bro @PERRIN_Chris for sending me the button and @PERRIN_Mladen for telling me what to call it.

The purpose of the button is to allow free movement of the hand brake, so you can pull it and put it back down in a quick, swift motion. Drifters often use the handbrake in this fashion to break traction of the rear of the car so they can go sideways. The spring in the handbrake is removed so the button can remain depressed, and the button itself has a lip so you can easily flick the button out for normal use.

It is a great looking item, and does exactly what it is designed to do. It is also easy to install and has measures to prevent rattling and vibration. Like usual Perrin fit and finish is superb. The Perrin Drift Button gets bonus points for matching my stainless steel shift knob.

Update: After going for a drive, I can confirm my button does not rattle.

As of this writing it is not out yet, but it will be coming out very soon. Let's check it out

First, park on a relatively level surface and put the car into gear for Manual Gearbox, or leave it in park for automatic. Then wrap a towel around the gear lever and a towel around the handbrake level to prevent scratch damage from tools being danger close. Proceed to use a vice grip and just unscrew the stock button. It is on very tight. You could wrap towels/tape or what not to help prevent damage to the button

This spring ensures the button will pop back out. Remove it using needle nose pliers (it will come out with no resistance). Alternatively you can leave it in there and all you will be doing is just replacing the button with a nicer one. Please take note of the stud the button threads onto.

Finished!

It matches very well with a stainless steel knob such as the ones Perrin offers
The large end of the button is no bigger than the hand brake handle itself.

looks pretty dope

Looks nice. Does the O-ring keep it from feeling "loose" like some of the other ones I've heard about? If so, I'll be picking one up when they are released.

The O-ring keeps the button feeling pretty secure, it doesn't really wiggle or anything.

Looking forward to getting this. Have the same ashiko knob as op. Seems to match well.

Also may purchase in red if available to match my lockout.

I'm going to let the gentle at Perrin answer. I believe they are still working out the final details (price, etc)
