AVCS tuning

Hello,
I don't plan on fiddling with the CAM maps anytime soon but I was thinking about it how it might all work since I bought my OFT. If you didn't know what you were doing could you make the valves hit the pistons etc?

Doubt it. I've maxed out the values and haven't made a mess of my engine.

Cam timing changes does not equal changes in valve lift. Look at an OEM ROM and see the changes that occur in stock form.

ive edited some vvt changes but it just ignores imputs that are adjusted higher then what shiv already has there. when datalogged the intake cam still dips in the middle and phases off at the end and the exhaust wont stay more then 26 after 5k. idk whats with it

ive only adjusted the (normal) intake and exhaust tables which the car seems to follow much closer then the other tables

May well be due to oil pressure. I'm not sure why you're keeping the exhaust that advanced that high in the range?

Are you adjusting both hi and low det cam maps (intake and exhaust) or the basemaps?

hi and lows? no jus the normal map. and the oft tune comes at 25 on the exhaust side all the way to redlineon stg 2

That'd be why then. I'm not sure when the car uses the base map but generally you should be on the low det cam maps, although I've been told it uses the high det map for a short period.

OFT uses the Safe tables mostly

In OFT they are called Safe and Normal maps. I've found that the Safe map is used most often. Here is some of my work. I left the Base tables as they are. The normal tables are the way Shiv made them for stage 2 OTS tunes.
