Found the source of a rattle, and fixed it!
 

Since new, there has been a ticking sound that seemed to be coming from the drivers door when going over imperfections in the road. After spending 1.5 years trying to find the source from the door, I realized yesterday that it is coming from the driver's side pillar! (the pillar where the seat belt attaches to)


There are two pieces for plastic on the pillar. The upper one where the belt attaches does not move. But the lower piece (about 1/2 way down) has too much play. I caulked the gap between the two, and the sound is gone!


Drove today with no click click click!!!

Wait you only have one rattle...lol. Great find I'll be checking if that's the source of any noises I hear.

Did you use Window & Door caulk, or just a generic silicone caulk? :bellyroll:

I had a popping/ rattle when I hit tiny bumps too. Turned out the rear fender was popping at the crease. I pulled the fender liner out and gave it a tiny hit with a hammer in the crease and no more pop. Weird bubble.

I get a gentle rattling/buzzing coming from the dash at speed. Usually it goes away when I open the glove compartment. Please note that the sound occurs even when the glove compartment is in closed position and has been emptied . Anyone get this?

No this was one of many, and all have been fixed with clear latex caulk:


All plastic panels around the wheel wells have been caulked and then sprayed with under coating.


Wires in the trunk secured so as not to rattle with small amounts of caulk.


Wires under the front dash (driver side) caulked to prevent movement.


The panels under the car which gave a rattle at highway speed..you got it....caulked.


Currently I am 100% rattle free with reduced road noise.

Turn your stereo up, duh. Wubwubwub. :)

I have the same thing. Where is the area that you fixed exactly? Not sure where the rear fender at the crease is... :confused0068:

I just got a loud exhaust to solve the rattles and a loud stereo to fix drone.

Sorry for the delayed response. Refer to the photo. I pulled the plastic fender liner out and around the inside of the fender is another metal panel.
The inner metal panel and rear quarter meet at that edge. I could actually get a 'pop' if I pushed on the rear quarter by the door. The area I circled was where the bubble was but on the underside. Not on the outer body panel. So my tap with the hammer was not to a panel that is seen from the outside.
