ATEQ QuickSet TPMS tool

I attempted to use this last night to retrieve my stock wheels sensor IDs from the ECU. I successfully get through the PC part of the process, but when I connect it to my cars OBD port, the green light flashes as it should, but when I press the winter button (as the instructions say to read the codes from the ECU) I get a solid red led instead of solid green (as the instructions say I should get). Their FAQ says it's a software update that is needed but that didn't work.

I've tried the software and drivers from both the included CD and from their website. Surprisingly, the latest beta on their site did not have the BRZ as a vehicle option while the CD software does, which I assume is older.

Has anyone else had this issue? What's the fix?

I had issues reading out codes if I didn't wait for the ignition to fully come on. On the pc side no real issues. My pc does have some flaky USB ports so I had to use the right one.

Ok, so you're thinking give the ECU more time to boot?

I did leave it connected and re-tried the winter button multiple times with no success.

I think if I didn't wait long enough I had to go through the cycle all over. But you may need to get the update and get the pc software working first.

Turns out I was not waiting long enough between turning on the ignition and connecting the quickset device. I also tried first having the obd cable connected securely to the car and then connecting the quickset device to the other end of the cable to ensure a solid connection. Not sure which did the fix but it's working.
