clutch dilema
Ok so my car is making too much power for the stock clutch at the moment. I need something that is going to handle 350-400 wtq.
I was looking at the ACT 4 puck rated at 375 wtq I believe or Exedy stage1 or stage2 many people have said the Exedy clutch is underrated. |
Have an act 6 puck in my other car for quite a few years now and love it. Still hasn't slipped on me yet. Car has over 400lbs of torque to the wheels

Exedy stage 1 is only rated to 205 and I think the stage 2 is 230.

If it's a street driven car I wouldn't get a 6 puck WITH a super light flywheel. Before everyone jumps on the be a man deal with the clutch bandwagon remember it's not always you who is gonna be driving your car. What happens when you have to give the keys over to a shop owner to drive it up on the dyno? Or valet parking, plus by having a clutch you can't purposefully slip you are putting more shock loading on your drivetrain. Just good for thought.

Exedy stage one is underrated. It can handle way much more than what its rated for as Ptuning has found out.
I run CM FX400. Goo reputation company, clutch holds power. I would go for it. |

These were street disks though not pucked so it maybe their pucked clutches are better. |
Why is no one asking him how he plans on making that much torque from the vortech kit?
"350-400 wtq." The highest Wtq I have seen for vortech kits is fluttering around 260... |
