MY2015 suspension bolts
MY2015 is supposed to include a couple new suspension bolts to stiffen up the chassis. The only difference I can tell is the flange size. The new bolts have a thicker flange.
See post below. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...9&postcount=48 The part numbers are as follows. Toyota/Scion SU003-05212 x 4 SU003-05213 x 2 SU003-05235 x 2 Subaru 901000431 x 4 901000435 x 2 902350032 x 2 A quick Google of the part numbers shows that these new bolts aren't available in North America yet except for the nuts on the rear shock. They use the same nut as the current models. |
Upon further research, I'm not so sure if these bolts were meant to stiffen up the chassis or just a cover up the weakness of the old bolts.
A Japanese blogger went ahead and swapped his old bolts for the MY2015 bolts. One of the pics shows what seems to be a broken bolt. Looks like the flange was rusted off? I'm assuming the new bolt is at the top and the old bolt is at the bottom. Maybe the old bolt has a collar. Like those Spoon Rigid Collars used to stiffen up the subframe. Not sure. Can anyone confirm? http://stat.ameba.jp/user_images/201...2913546831.jpg Source: http://ameblo.jp/zn6-86-fa20/entry-11827527447.html |

I saw Revolutions started selling some bolts, probably the same crossmember bolts.
They also started selling a reinforced front crossmember. |
How is this thread not more popular?! Thanks OP!

I just called Subaru and they have all those parts in stock now. I also verified that the USDM 2014 models use the updated bolts. Ordered a set. Will be picking them up soon.

Anyone know the build dates this started with?

the MY2015 ones are for front subframe and at rear lower arm where the rear strut joins. |
Post up when you get them and post differences.
I replaced most of my suspension bolts last year already when I did suspension work. Would like to see the differences. |
Does that collar get reused on to the new bolt? Without that collar it looks like it would create slop between the bolt->subframe. Since the diameter of the new bolt is the same as the old one.
So has anyone said that their 2014 handles different then a 2013? (since it apparently uses the new bolts) |
