Front bumper alignment
Whats up, sunday afternoon I was driving on the freeway and an older suburban ran over a scrap piece of tire that got kicked up and hit my front bumper. No cracks, no dents, no scratches. The only thing i noticed different about my FRS is there is a tiny gap between the bottom corner of one of the headlights. Anybody in the bay area have any experience removing the front bumper? Or have any suggestions on how I should tackle this situation. Thanks for your input. Will try and include a picture.

in the DIY section here there are a number of threads detailing how to do this. you can also go to youtube and just search Winjet headlight installation for the FRS and there are also a bunch of how to videos for this car as well.
hope this helps, good luck |
^that. It's pretty straight forward removing the bumper. Only issue you most likely will have is getting the side markers off(hard to get off the first time) and putting it back on(doesn't look as flush as it was before)

if even after you remove the bumper and put it back on and it doesn't align right then you may need to go an extra step and kind of reinstall/realign the bracket that holds the bumper in as well. I had a similar problem after i rear-ended someone. i got the bumper replaced completely, but i still had the gap until i pulled it off and messed with the bracket.

yeah, once you take it off it just never sits the same I suppose. My sidemarkers are a little wobbly and loose after I took off my bumper, but the removal is quite easy. The DIY should get you through it (see below for links), the hardest part like @Bach415 said is taking off your sidemarkers. Do your best to stay patient lol
Here is the thread I followed to get my bumper off. You will only go up to step 8. http://scionfr-s.blogspot.com/p/fron...r-removal.html Also here's a secondary link that pays more attention to the sidemarkers, this was useful as well when I got stuck on how to take them off. http://scionfr-s.blogspot.com/p/fron...r-removal.html |
Thanks guys!
