ESBJIUJITSU's FRS DD GRIP MACHINE WISH LIST

ESBJIUJITSU's FRS DD GRIP MACHINE WISH LIST

Now obviously I wont start off with all of this, but I hope to build to this. I have been looking for a platform just like the brz/frs for a while and I plan big things off of it. The items with a star by them will be mods done asap! My main focus is on grip mountain driving and hill climbs. Feel free to let me know what you think.
I train jiu jitsu late and come home full of energy so I put my energy to work so why not post it :) ENJOY and remember this is just my personal vision of my frs. I know a lot of people wont like the aero styling or my
tuning choices but thats to be expected. Im just simply laying out my plan to draw out opinions to help me
question what im looking for, so all comments are welcome. Thanks! I hope to turn this into an ever evolving check list once i actually purchase the car :) :burnrubber:

I will be interested in this build as I want to do several of the things you listed here.

Quick question, what make you choose 245/45 over 245/40?

not available in the tires i would like to run :( they have 235/35 also. I would assume the tire width would be smaller though with that setup. And thanks. Ill keep updating my list and also updating when I get the car and which upgrades i actually complete. i may end up numbering them in order at some point. Anything to keep my idle mind moving until I can purchase the frs :) I cant wait to get some renderings done. Maybe ill offer someone some $ here to make something up for me. Any takers???

Hey ESB. I also like listing out future mods :)

As for your tires 245/45 is going to be a full 26mm/1.1 inches taller than stock. There are plenty of tire options out there at 245/40 which are only 2mm taller than stock and would probably be a better option.

also please if anyone has any other suggestions that would prove useful in my grip bias setup please let me know. and yes i plan on DDing this car, so i will keep Ac and heat but will take out all the original ducting and replace it with lite weight material and a much more direct and simple setup. Also I will gut from the btm of the lower dash paneling down. Will remove all sound dampening material and will clean and repaint the metal if necessary. I will then add new patches of rubber grip material in the particular spots where my feet and the passengers feet would rest on the bare metal floor board. I will remove the back seats clean up all wiring and again remove all waste and clean. Radio and speakers will remain. I love music :) Im hoping even with the addition of the roll cage between the rims, carbon fiber parts, and gutting that i can still lower the over all weight a bit and maintain at least 250hp. So long as i have all the grip i need, I see it being a very thrilling mountain car and DD :) :burnrubber:

Serious question: how do you make ducting lighter than the flimsy plastic that it already is? And when you say clean up wiring do you mean re-run and hide wiring?
Cheers.
PS. I'm liking the build! I have some similar ideas myself but maybe not so hardcore ;)

I will remove all the plastic ducting and hardware and replace with something similar to this http://www.flexfab.com/Products/Aero...ting/ultra.htm and just simplify. YOu only need one split to shot two directions up top and two down at your feet. Much more simple and stream line and no hardware needed just drop the ducting and zip tie to near by dash bracket, and keep under the dash so its not visible.

As far as the wiring goes yes and no. I have found a great way to wide wire is vinyl film with psa backing. Just bundle wires and cover with strips of the material. You can usually not even see were the wires are run. Obviously if you can tuck and hide wires thats easy as well. I just want the interior to look as seamless as possible as to look fresh from the factory, but still gutted and race inspired. I love that feeling of being in a race car.

Cool! Thanks for posting the link to that ducting. I now know what to run for brake cooling ducts!

ESBjiujitsu 05-16-2012 12:41 PM

no problem i run the same for brake cooling. Guess i need to update my list .... hahahaha thank you!
