Steering rack off now TC kicks in all the time?

Gents

I had to remove my steering rack to fit some new mounting bushes and while I carefully marked the steering input shaft before disconnecting the column knuckle and it all went back in the same place

the car does track straight and true but I'm certain that the TC light never used to flash as much as it does now

looking at the steering angle logged value on ECUtek it shows that the dead ahead position is reading about 2-5° so I'm suppose that's the problem

So I think that I must have the steering out by 1 spline or so

your thoughts?

Yeah...sounds like you're off a spline or two. I've had my rack in and out twice, don't ask why, and haven't had the TC issue you're speaking of. But if Ecutek is logging 2-5 degrees of steering angle straight ahead there may be an issue. Did you get her realigned after reinstalling the rack as well?

This is probably a good idea. The good machines (like the one we use Hunter Hawkeye Elite) will connect to the ECU and can reset that during the alignment.
