Stock brakes worn out?
 

I've now got 27k or about 16k miles for y'all muricans....


Winter driving my car so well, but it definitely feels like braking performance has decreased. May be the snow tires too.

What's your guys experience with this?


Considering changing the pads but I don't know if it's necessary...

Just pop off your wheels and check the thickness of your pads. :)

Going to do this once it gets a bit warmer.

I don't think they could be worn out already...

how hard are you braking


now that the temps are warming, panic/hard stops on snows are gonna have you plow quite a bit

When I press lightly on the brake. Seems like it used to grab harder, but I'm thinking you may be right.

tires are also probably a big part of it...and you can bleed your brakes too

Tires have no effect on how much initial bite a pad feels to have.

Glazed pads, air in the lines or worn pads or defective memory ( :D ) could make them feel like they have less bite.

What benefit does that have other than getting rid of bubbles.?

Air in the system makes your brake pad spongee.

Over time your brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air because brake fluid is hygroscopic.

By getting rid of this air and having pure brake fluid, you get better braking.

Also -- Braking distance is mostly on the tire...
