Buzzing sound under glove compartment?

I dont know if it has always been there but I noticed a constant very slight buzzing sound, almost like a cdrom spinning sound coming from under the glove compartment infront of passenger side. The sound is only there when the engine is ON so I assume it has nothing to do with the headunit or music. Is this normal or just me?

I had a rattle around that area which turned out to be the glove box itself. I put a few layers of felt just above the hinges so there would be pressure on them when closed. That took care of it for me, but you may have something different. Worth a shot.

If you start hearing ticking...jump out the car and call the bomb squad.

Maybe its the sound tube telling you to plug it up?

Is your AC/heater on at all? That makes a big difference. I'm gutting my entire interior in the next few weeks and sound deadening the whole damn thing so it should be quiet as a mouse when I'm done. =P

this is the blower noise.

start car and turn ur blower to 0. then turn to 1. listen. turn to 2. listen.

I had this part replaced twice. It's still making the noise.
Mine is pretty high pitched and drives me nuts...

I'll need to test this.

Edit: Well I'll be damned. The buzzing is from the blower. It's there even when the engine is off just didn't notice. When they replaced it did it fix the sound or is this like the HPFP crickets where it comes back immediately -__-;

Are you sure your cat isn't hiding in the backseat?

body flex from back, this blower noise, HPFP, engine knock at specific rpm during load.

I just turn music on all the time now..

Also, just dropped $2.5k (with tax) on 160k km warranty. cuz i am not willing to deal w this shit long term.

I am considering taking whole car apart and applying some kind of sound deafening material.

latest sound rattle: the plate that is around the sound player rattles in bottom right corner.
also, some wires behind the glove box are making noises only when the glove box is closed.

what are you experiencing? lol

I don't know if it is because I installed a backup camera and didn't tie wires correctly but there's a sound behind the head unit slightly to the left. I also had a sound on the roofliner which I pulled apart and put sound deadening inside to fix (3M thinsulate accoustic). This is after I tore apart the car and put sound deadener over the entire trunk and rear quarter panels lol.

So I went to the dealer and checked out the buzzing sound. Turns out EVERY FRS and BRZ has this sound so it's not really a problem just the way the car is. So no fix.
