Shifter bushing sleeve/bolt tolerance
For those guys that have installed a rear shifter bushing, what was the tolerance between the m8 bolt supplied and the sleeve? I picked up an energy suspension bushing and the tolerances... are... well....... excessive. Is this the case with the perrin or kart boy bushing?
The sleeve diameter reads .385", the bolt reads essentially .315" (8mm). I feel a .070" clearance would allow for a lot of vertical play. im considering picking up 3/8" shoulder bolts to reduce the clearance. Thoughts or suggestions? @FT-86 SpeedFactory would you be able to shed light on this for me? http://i.imgur.com/q0EMNxA.jpg |
The bushing is to keep the bolt from compressing the new shifter bushing. The fact that the bolt isn't snug inside the bushing is inconsequential. The bolt and washer will tighten against the bushing and keep the bushing from sliding around. The bushing will be pressed by the bolt and washer into the surface where the bushing bolts to. You don't have an issue here. Install and enjoy your improved shifter!
