Depends on which stage you go with, our Stage 3's will provide some usable light output, but HIDs are still the best route to take for the most usable output.
The Stage 1's and 2's are intended primarily for cosmetic appearance Nick C. |
HIDs? So you can blind every person in the oncoming lane? Not smart, or safe.

The position of the arc with our HID bulbs closely matches the filament position of the halogen bulb it replaces. It will generate more light, but it also does an excellent job utilizing the factory housings.
Projectors are the best solution, but with a 35 watt kit and a low car like the FR-S, you won't be blinding anyone. http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/research.html Nick C. |

hid bulbs have 2 hotspots, one at the each end of the arc, which makes the beam output incompatible with halogen optics that are designed around a single hotspot of a burning filament. |
So 35W is safe in plastic fogs? I know a lot of the Subaru/Yota fogs are 19v OEM, but most aftermarket bulbs (halogen) are 35W, and 35 is the min for HID as well.
Just checking before I burn anything. |
it really depends on the actual quality of the bulb.. just keep in mind that there are absolutely zero standards regarding uv output, or focal point when it comes to hid h-based bulbs, so it's all pretty much a crapshoot weather you'll get a bulb with near-oem specs, or one that requires spf 100 just to install...
this is my experience with h-based bulbs. http://www.club3g.com/forum/show-shi...on-inside.html if it burns the plastic in the housing, it's a good enough reason for me to not have any desire to use them... |

For FR-S foglights, we have a few LED and halogen bulb options available. HIDs are also available for foglights, but it is important to note that it does produce glare for oncoming traffic (being non-projector lens) and therefore the foglights may need to be aimed low to minimize the glare as much as possible.
