Drop something in the engine bay

Was installing HID and accidentally drop the stupid plastic bulb cover down into the bottom of the shield, does anyone know how I can take it out, or would it just roll out from driving?

You need to take it to the dealership ASAP...

When you say shield, you mean the splash guard under the header? It just is a few bolts and clips to take that off.

Haha I did the same thing with a hose clamp once. Luckily it was close enough to one of the openings in the skid plate underneath that I could get a hook tool through the gap and pull it ahead. Then from the top I was able to use the same tool to hook it again and pull it up and out. What a bitch that was.

Anyways, definitely get it out of there before you drive or it will likely melt from the heat from the headers. Best case is that it just smells like burnt plastic. Worse case is that it starts a fire.

raise the front end from the middle jack point, as high as the floor jack can go. Then start tapping the shield and pray the bulb cover rolls off. It works for me when i accidentally dropped a bolt and it landed on the under tray.

Otherwise, just remove the tray.....i think it's only held by six bolts and a handfull of clips.

Is this question really necessary to ask...? If you drop something, get down to the car, raise or whatnot, remove the bottom cover, find the plastic..
