Manual vs. Auto?

Ok, so how many people here went with the stick, and how many went with the slush?

Aka manual or automatic?

Curious to see relatively albeit from a small sample size how many people went either one.

Sorry there's no sticky and it's not recent, so it must be buried somewhere where I didn't know it existed

Stick

at least make it a poll op..

Manual!
1.) "Connects" the driver to the car...
2.) Simply more fun...
3.) It's less expensive than an auto.

Yep, if you're looking for an update ..... a poll would be best.

I drive a manual.

The auto is great, I've owned an auto FR-S for almost 2 years now. But it's getting to me... I havnt done really any upgrades to the car except tires and fluids... I do however have a pile of parts accumulating for my build...

But I'm probably going to sell the auto soon for a manual... :/

I miss my last car and the 6 pluck unsprung clutch and my trd short shifter :( It's just not as fun anymore... plus i dont know how to take apart modern automatics and service them myself or have the tools to do so :/...

If you are in a manual now and aren't impaired physically that keeps you from driving stick.... get the manual... if you dont feel like learning how to drive stick.... get the auto.... you'll never know what your missing out on :)

Manual
* More connection, control over the engine.
* More fun
* Don't have to listen to people give you shit
* Cheaper
* Better resale
* The way the car was meant to be driven

Automatic
* Easier to operate in uphill traffic.
* Better mileage

I already started an Automatic Tranny thread.

I do own a manual and thanks to finch1750, have tried the Auto.

I would agree with 1 + 2, but 3 was simply not true for me. I went with a used Whiteout AT for 20,994 due to the fact that everywhere around me wanted +2k more for a manual! :sigh:

2 weeks after i got her though, i went on cars.com to see what i could find and wouldn't you know it, I found a Raven MT for 17,995. granted, it was 6 hours away but i definitely would've taken that drive in a heartbeat
