Time attack roll cage question

I was wondering if anybody could tell me quickly if the time attack events such as the one at Road Atlanta on May 9th and 10th allow harness bars or if you need to have a cage? And if a cage is needed, Can it be bolted in or must it be welded in? Thanks for the replies I'm at work and wasn't able to look to the rule book.

I know in NASA Time Trial events you aren't required to have any safety equipment installed. All you need is a time trial license and a transponder.

It looks like the event you mentioned is a Global Time Attack event:

Here are the rules and a tech sheet:

To answer your question:

1. A 6-*‐point roll cage is strongly recommended for all classes and is required in the Unlimited Class meeting GTA CCR Section 4 specs.

It depends purely on the organization. You don't need one for GTA.

Thank you very much. I may just do a harness bar then as I like to be snug in my seat when I race. So far i've only done autocross tho.

Don't use a harness bar unless you have at least a roll bar, HANS (or equivalent), and a bucket seat.

If you have just a harness bar, you're going to be very sorry if you ever get into ANY wreck.

Safety systems are to be used as a system; you can't just pick and choose what's convenient for you. You'll be injured worse with just a harness bar and harnesses.

Stick to the OEM 3 point, and use a CG-lock if you want to stay snug.
