Quick question about my driver's side window..

First off, when i do the auto down it works fine. but the auto up it goes all the way up then back down to half way. Not sure what i could do to fix this. Already did the hold down for 5 seconds thing that the manual says.
Secondly, when opening the driver's side the window doesn't come down the tiny bit that it should but the passenger side is working. Any help/opinions on this would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance !

hmmm......did you do the "hold down on the button thing" when the window was up AND down?

If so, and that didn't do it, you may consider disconnecting the battery and setting the window again.

ok. It did not work, if i held the window too long past when it just closed it would go back down to half way. As to disconnecting the battery should i just remove the negative or both ? sorry for the "nooby" question.

On the battery, just remove one side for a few seconds.

I hope it works for you.

sadly it didn't work. removed the positive and its still going down half way after clicking it to auto up or clicking up when it is already closed.
should i just take it back to the dealership and have them fix it ? i got the car this past monday. also I don't think it is the cold doing it to the windows because the windows go up and down like nothing

Well, DeLaRage, I'm out of ideas .... :(

Unless another forum member can come up with a fix, I reckon you should take it back to the dealer.

What fun ..... huh .....

Let us know how it turns out.

(:mad0260: ..... dang new fangled things ..... weren't nutten wrong with the window cranks ....)

FWIW whenever I reset the window, if the engine was off, the window would get stuck open/down. I had to have the car fully on to reset it. But one instance I had to disconnect the battery(negative) for about 15 minutes before trying again.

Did you try turning your car on and off again?

Make sure you hold the buttons down then up with the door shut

I haven't tried with the car completely on. Maybe I'll try that when I get home. And I'll probably also try disconnecting the battery again to see if that works.

I've done that several times. But when I hold them up if I hold the driver side up too long it just goes back down to half way.

Well, at least you gave it a good try.

I reckon the switch is most likely whacked out .... :(

The dealer should be able to get it working again.

So I magically fixed it! Lol. I was waiting in the car and I started playing with the windows. And they reset. Now it's working how it's supposed to.
