Suspension settings for different size tires
Hi Guys,
My current setup for my suspension is RCE Yellows Springs with Koni Yellow dampers. I also have two different sizes of wheels. My track tires are 225/45/17 17x8 RPF1s and my street tires are 245/35/18s 18x9.5 TC105ns. The Koni Yellows only have a firmness adjustment. Would it be a good idea to adjust it every time I switched wheels? (I plan to do at least 5 track days for this upcoming season) If I did bother to find the best settings, would there be a drastic difference between two optimal settings for the two different size wheels? Thanks! |
Find what works on the track setup and leave them at that. If you don't like the ride on those settings, count the number of notches on the knob(since they don't have clicks) you pass when setting them from full hard to what you track them on, write it down and find what is comfortable for the street. Do not run yellows on dead soft, though.
