Which HFC is the best?

Hi,
im planning on buying a high flow cat for my car before the winter ends so i can install it right when summer hits since Canada doesn't have long summers, i need all the time i can have with my car.

i have three options
Motiv Concept - MSRP $329.99
Berk - MSRP $249.99
Private Label MFG Front Pipe Hi-Flow - MSRP $275.99

which one is the best?
all of them use a 200 cell hfc so im having a hard time choosing..

Motiv, without a doubt, but I really dislike the idea of cats. I personally think they don't do much with sound. If noise is a concern get a resonated front pipe not catted.

same i really hate the idea of cats but Ontario laws and emissions ...
im actually trying to delete the resonator on the stock front pipe cause the one on my perrin catback is enough!

Why motiv tho? arent they all the same with a 200 cell hfc or does motiv have some special material?

I dont know about ontario but in the states HFC arent consider legal ( messing with cats is not allowed and the only reason people use them is to keep the fumes down)

Motiv = great quality parts
Beark = ok quality (good for the value)

Do you run motiv yourself?

Are you asking about cats or front pipes?

No i ran a j2 test pipe which is crap, but it was a temporary thing. Now i have a full nameless exhaust getting ready to go on with my turbo.

If money isnt an issue only consider
Jdl
Nameless
Motiv

man... i have a Injen Intake, Borla Uel Header and a Perrin Cat Back right now.
i wanna find a good deal on a nice front pipe and overpipe cause i dont wanna spend that much on both since they dont really make a huge diffrence to the car. do you guys have any other suggestions other than the ones i posted?

Nameless 2.5 down pipe , not the cheapest option but you get both front and down pipe in one pipe. Only heads up is wait times with nameless are a bit long

I would have thought that all 3 makers of front pipes mentioned here would have bough the cats off the shelf.

I would go with the Motiv. I dont' think I've ever seen a complaint about their quality.

Also, Berk is inexpensive but their quality is also high up there. I've used Berk exhaust components on previous vehicles and was happy with the fit and quality

I have a berk HFC and I love it! The pipe fit perfectly with my perrin o/p and my j2 exhaust catback. The reason why I went with a catted front pipe is cause I didn't want my car to sound raspy when I accelerated. I have headers so the pipe helped me not sound like a honda. If that helps

For what it's worth, you don't need an e-test until the car is 7 years old or until you sell it and the new test is all based on the OBDII readiness state, so if you're running a tune that keeps the secondary O2 sensor ready you'll be 100% fine. I've never seen an e-test tech actually look at the exhaust to check for cats, and since neither of our cats are visible from the engine bay they'd have to be putting the car on a hoist (and pulling the under tray if they want to check the primary cat) to even look.

Plus, you're talking about the secondary cat, not the primary cat (in the stock exhaust manifold). Unless you're running a catless header you won't have a single issue with emissions since the ECU is testing the primary cat for efficiency, not the secondary cat.

That said, I'm running a perrin 2.5" catted front pipe because I'd rather keep a HFC to keep the air a bit cleaner than get the extra 1/2hp you'll gain going to catless from a HFC.

Front pipe and overpipe make more of a difference than a catback. Unless you are thinking weight savings.
