Deatshworks 65 fuel pump install questions
My shop is installing the direct-fit D65 fuel pump.
I've read about install issues, just wanting to confirm the number of O-rings needed and hopefully find anything else I need to know so things go more smoothly that they have so far. I read someone used 4 O-rings, can anyone confirm this? Thanks for any help. Mike |
I was given the link to the install thread, THANKS, I think that will have all the info my shop needs.

Four O rings or the white spacer and two O rings. They key is that the FP casing closes really tight (without breaking of course.)
If you don't make sure about it, you will be loosing fuel pressure and going lean. |
We used just two O-rings. Don't forget to use the OEM spacer. That needs to be installed on the DW pump. The only issue installing is you need to cut the bottom clip that holds the OEM pump in since it sticks out too far.
Edit: Sprtsguy83 beat me to it :) |
Thanks!
My shop had issues with the FB pump, first no pressure, then it seems to work intermittently with only 10lbs pressure when it did work. Now, we're installing the D65 pump and I want to make sure it gets installed correctly. Thanks for the help. mike |

I checked today, and it seems they got the FB pump to work today, they had the O-rings stacked wrong, needed to add another O-ring and we now have good fuel pressure.
They had also reported that the pump was turning on and off, not sure if that was maybe because it couldn't reach priming pressure or what, hopefully it'll work as it should and they'll get on to tuning! I can't wait! |
Thats great, keep us posted
