Open flash erasing/unmarry

Anybody have any advice for how to delete the information off this thing and unmarry it from my car? I am confused as hell. The erase info tab is black out and I can't use it. I got rid of the mod file but the rest of the info laughs at my stupid clicks on the erase data link. Any help would be hella appreciated.

All you'll need to do is write the original file back into your ECU. At that point, the Erase function will be available just as long as you have a wifi connection on your laptop.

Hi Shiv, is it possible to unmarry the OFT without reflashing back to the original file? At the last minute, I had a tuner tune my car using Ecutek, so I didn't have my OFT with me to flash back to stock beforehand. Since the tuner is located in another state, I won't be able to reflash and flash back to his map.

Is there a workaround? :iono:

Hmmmm looks like you might have snookered yourself there.

The whole idea of the marry/de-marry is to stop the device being used on multiple cars at once, you will most likely have to ship it back to Vishnu to get them to unmarry it for you. Else your going to loose your ecuteck tune and the licence info embedded in the ecutek ROM. The Ecutek tune might be locked as well so you might not be able to write anyway.

There is a software limit to how many times you can erase the OFT. In the older units, it is twice. In the newer units, it is 5 times. If you reach that limit, the Erase function will be greyed out/unselectable. If that is the case, just email us the OFT's serial number (you can see it in the top window of the OF Manager screen when the OFT is connected). We can then then reset the limit remotely so that you will be able to erase the data the next morning.

Of course, make sure you have a WIFI connection when trying to use the Erase function :)

So l tried using my recently purchased used OFT in my car. Step one-plug into OBD2 connector, check.
Turn on ignition to the ON position, check
That's as far as l can go. Looks like it's still married to the orevious owners car but he says he unmarried it.
It wont allow me to select vehicle after l press "Tuning"
Takes me directly to the Read/Write/
Any help will be ridiculously appreciated. Please.

I would contact the buyer and let me know that your OFT is still installed in his car. Have you tried going to the Erase Data menu to erase it? It's possible he just forgot that step.

Shiv I pm'd you this question but not sure if you got it or not. I wrecked my car and don't have access to it to unmarry my OFT. Is sending the OFT back to you guys the only option I have?
