Squeaking noise from wheel
First off I know the video is terrible but this is just a midnight cry for help. I'll obviously take it to a mechanic to diagnose the problem but since it happened on Christmas eve I can't do much about it at the moment. I just want to see if anyone experienced this in their previous cars or what not.
This high pitch noises occurs when the car is moving. It also happens when the car is idle and pressure is applied downwards against the car. I don't think its brakes. Wheel bearings? http://s154.photobucket.com/user/dea...32f49.mp4.html Link is to the video. Any comments would be appreciated. |
Wow. That's really weird. It sounds like that noise you get from worn out pads. I don't think it's a wheel bearing, usually a wheel bearing noise is like a humming noise. Maybe a suspension part broke or there's something stuck in the wheel area causing that squeak.

If you can push down on the car and the sound happens, I'm thinking it should be very easy to isolate the squeak. It does sound metal on metal. Maybe a shock went bad? Does the squeak happen equally on all four corners when you push down on each corner? Or is it just on one corner?

How many miles on the car? Check your right rear brake pads. My best guess...

I often hear a tiny squeak from the front brakes when backing out of my garage for the first time after a couple nights of being parked. Only the initial backup, no more sound after warmup.

I believe it's fixed for now. I brute forced it by driving it for a few km. The noise is gone now and hope it's just a rock wedged between or something...Thanks everyone
