Bent lower control arm
So I pulled into my driveway the other night, it had snowed, and I slid into a curb at about 4mph no joke. I thought nothing of it, forgot about it until the next morning when my steering wheel was off and noticed the steering was loose. Also my traction control light is constantly on along with the abs light. I ordered parts last night. I was wondering the difficulty of replacing this part. I've worked with roders/pads/shocks before so i'm experienced in the wheel area. Also replacing this will hopefully fix the abs/tc?? i'm hoping?? anybody experienced in this area? any thoughts/advice would be awesome, thanks

The steering wheel being not centered would be the reason for the dash lights. Get a new arm and make sure it's aligned correctly after. If the lights are still on after it's probably a damaged sensor.

I did the same thing in my car the LCA was bent and the slide caused my power steering rack gears to be jammed, toyota had to reset the lights once everything was installed .

If the steering feels loose, it's probably a tie-rod more than a bent LCA. I would have a look at all the parts before just buying a random part and hoping that's the issue.

Roders....lol
Sorry but that crack me up. You should jack up the front end, unload the weight and grab the tire at 3 and 9 position and wiggle. Might be easier if you have a friend do that while you look for the moving part. Sounds like a tie rod to me. There're inner and outter tie rods, make sure you get the right part. |
