Drive shaft play

Is this amount of play normal on drive shaft ? my car only done 3,000 miles.

Never been to a track before or did any hard launch.

Normal. This is the play that allows cars to rock back and forth when parked in-gear and the parking brake not engaged. To eliminate this play, the gears would have to be meshed so tight against each other they would wear out super fast.

Ic, but any idea why every time when i change gear there is like a metal knock sound ? sounds like the gear slapping or something. So I'm wondering is it because of the play in the shaft causing the sound ? :iono:

I get this this too depending on how I shift. Seems normal, I had the same exact situation in my old BMW... rear end had about the same amount of play in it as in the video shown, shifting into first from a stop would result in a muffled clunk. Was normal

This is why you just don't want to dump the clutch during a hard takeoff..
You Always want to take up this slack so you don't snap and break things..
