Oil coolers price range

I know you get what you pay for, I'm just curious what other factors there are besides material and craftsmanship. For example, there's a Moshimoto universal (I guess that's already a red flag) at $200 - $300 http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/300626415694?lpid=82 all the way to Greddy's around $1000.

I would spend around $300 - $400 for spirited driving and autocross, but more than that seem exuberant.

You can do what @CARNZ did and installed the Forester XT oil cooler on our cars.

For spirited driving and autocross, you really don't need an oil cooler...

Just saying.

Good point. Throw in occasional track day.. I'll look at the Forrester cooler, I forgot about that thread.

I got up to 237F tonight driving spirited and doing 0 - 60s. I feel like I should bring that down, especially if I also try some track day.. yeah?

"Perrin and others have hinted at the fact the the stock ECU pulls timing and reduces power if the oil temps exceed around 225F"

Did you even read the rest of that thread, or just read the first quote about a hint?

I really think if you are planning this out, to not jump to a conclusion about oil temps and do some research. 237F oil temps aren't hot at all...

We have one car with an oil cooler, and one without one.... one is forced induction and one is not.... ;) Both see extended periods on track.

Also stay away from universal and ebay... they will only cause headaches.
