This sort of thing seems to happen a lot around here

King Tut 12-18-2013 12:35 PM

Write up probably went like this:

Installed Vortech supercharger, it was "limited in the power it can produce", uninstalled Vortech supercharger, will be purchasing turbo kit.

jamesm 12-18-2013 12:44 PM

sadly, that does seem to be the theme these days. two friends of mine have already fallen victim to the supercharger-to-turbo rethink lol.

They either need a smaller pulley or to go back in time to figure out their goals and buy the appropriate fi kit....

Expensive mistake

Any updates on a writeup?

With plenty of people more than doubling their RWHP these days with our systems still on the stock engine, anyone disappointed in power is not an issue with our system in any way. Name any other kit you can buy in 50 State emissions legal form and still have the ability to reach whatever power goals you may have. I could see your point when someone installs another brand of supercharger, absolutely, but when it comes to Supercharging an 86, Vortech is still WAY on top power-wise.

SmsAlSuwaidi 12-18-2013 02:09 PM

Let me guess, vortech gave away another FI kit to a hardparked rocket bunny car

 !

Brian@Vortech 12-18-2013 02:13 PM

We are actually well represented in every segment. Show car, track car, Domestic, International, you name it. We also don't give any kits away. We don't need to. Being on every single one of the hottest cars and highest profile builds is just a bonus.

Back on topic, looking forward to the review guys!

Why the Vortech hate guys? Unless I'm missing something it seems unwarrarented

No hate, just a joke. There are plenty of happy Vortech customers hitting the streets by hard parking every day:

The Vortech kit has their small issues. But their self oiled kit handles over 300HP without any drama, and this kit is by far one of the most track tested. There is about 1 year of any data on long term effects of high HP on this car you want higher HP go roll the dice.

It's also perfect for those who don't want the complexity of having to tap oil pan, or run external oil reservoirs or coolers like other SC setups.

And at this point installed on more cars than probably any other brand or kit on the market. It just works reliably. Still waiting on real world track data from users of other kits. So much BS on this forum.

Solid reference to an earlier time in our history.

"CHECK OUT OUR INSTALLED VORTECH KITS"

-video of slammed cars leaving a meet, barely.
