Has anyone run a 13sec 1/4mile on E85 & NA
I'm trying to get a gauge on how much gain there is from running ethanol, and it can be painful comparing dynos, mainly because they all read the baseline different.
Our dynos in NZ only show the stock car as having 140whp Lol. At least 1/4 miles are a good comparison. Assuming good driver. Is it feasible to expect a NA 86 with high flow air filter, headers and full exhaust, and an e85 tune to break into a 13 sec et? Cheers |
It should be mathematically possible with 200whp and a racing weight < 2750 pounds.

Mid 14s here on pump gas. We don't have ethanol here. Shooting for low 14s hopefully. Very difficult to hit 13s on stock weight.
My stock dyno was 145whp btw ;) |
Should be fairly easy to cut 150 lbs off the car.
Not sure what that translates to in terms of time cut though. Guessing a 1/10th or so. |

well if you reduce overall weight, its basically like reducing a percentage of the driver's weight (once he is inside driving).
Perhaps this will help or give you some ideas > http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53482 . I started a thread speculating how noticeable and how much of a difference increasing horsepower (with the OFT) and dropping roughly 130 lbs would be. |
From some of the posts I've seen, FI guys are running in the 13's but their trap speed is insane! IMO go for a 100mph trap speed for NA, which would be in the high 13s with a good launch.

you could probably do this just by gutting the cat... JS
