Perrin or Cusco Engine Mounts and NVH

Hi All,

I am getting the sprintex supercharger fitted very shortly and it has been recommended to change the engine mounts - I have been looking at either the Perrin or Cusco ones but I believe that they increase NVH

I was just wondering if anyone has experience with either of these mounts and could guide me in the right direction so as to not increase the NVHJ too much!!!!
cheers
Andrew

I have the Cusco engine mounts and am pleased with it. I was considering going with the Perrin mounts, but I hear you may have to drill or file the hole on the chassis if it doesn't line up, which doesn't sound like a smart move to me. Cusco drops in once aligned and does not require drilling/filing the chassis in order to work as the hardware is reused.

I also used to have the Perrin transmission support, but vibrations were ridiculous with the combination, so I swapped it out for the Kartboy insert. My car also has Perrin rear shifter bushing, Battleversion rear subframe inserts, TIC solid steering rack mounts, and WL differential mounts - so my idea of NVH may differ from yours.

If you get engine mounts, you should get a stiffer transmission mount/insert of some sort if you don't already.

Have you looked into the STi Group-N mounts or the TRD mounts? We have the Cusco's in our Shop BRZ here and while I love them, they do increase the NHV quite a bit. The STi or TRD mounts would be a nice middle ground where it will help reduce movement without increasing the NHV too much.

However with comfort, it really is such a personal preference item that it would be impossible for me to say what would be too stiff or too soft for any individual person, but I hope the above helps.

Thanks,
Rick

Is it possible to tell if my car already has STi mounts? I have a 2017 86 and as far as I can tell from pics, the STi and ones I have look exactly the same. So how can I tell them apart? Unless of course the STi mounts are sold separately or don't come stock on any of the latest base cars.

I took a pic of the STI mounts next to the stock 2017 mounts during my install. STI is on the right.

I have the cusco mounts and have been very happy with them. And I don't feel that it increased NVH much for me, I also have a solid trans mount too. And this is with a straight cut gear set.
