86 Hi Spec Fog lights bulbs

Hi Guys

Looking for a simple way to get rid of the yellow colour of the OEM fog lamp bulbs.
Has anyone replaced the bulbs with someting that matches the main headlight colour. ??

Hi

I have fitted cree LED lamps but they are 6000k where the headlight lamps are 4300k.
If you want them to match you're gonna have to fit 6000k HID's as well.

That being said, they are completely and utterly useless in fog so I'm actually looking to get 3000k yellow fog lamps. I don't use fogs when I'm not driving in the fog or rain(illegal anyway) so it doesn't bother me.

Sav what size ? (tipe) H1 -H6 ? est.

sav 12-09-2013 03:52 PM

H16

Busy looking at a couple of HID 3000k options with AC ballasts. Shipping is pretty crazy though and it's like navigating through a maze of brands. Have to cross check everything via google/forums.

Search for Cree Cob. Much brighter.

HID seems to be a bad idea btw so I'll stick to LED or halogen.

I installed my Chinese LED's. Anyone spot the difference? I'm very happy to get rid of the candlelight look.

Looking good!

I've gone the exact opposite way. I don't drive with fogs on unless there is fog or very heavy rain, so when I do use them I want them to work. Unfortunately our cars are fitted with useless 24W H16 globes so I've upgraded the fog lights with glass casings and proper 55w H11 globes.

Fogs & DRL only:

Probably not to everybody's taste but I like the retro look:

I actually still need to adjust/aim them properly but haven't had a chance yet.

Sav have you converted your drl's to be brighter ?

Ryan86 01-12-2014 07:57 AM

No listened to me and got 6000k bulbs

sav 01-12-2014 08:12 AM

Nope. Headlights are not on in that pic Ryan, DRL and fogs on only.

They just look brighter at night for some reason. I do know how to get them workig in bright mode but that would mean opening up the headlights.

DrSUTRA 01-12-2014 02:01 PM

@sav is there a way to make to parks/drl brighter without opening the headlight?

sav 01-12-2014 02:52 PM

Nope
