2014 PAX table

2014 PAX Table most stayed the same... but significant changes in stock.

On first glance it seems like all the new street classes will have it very tough, except DS maybe.

Doing a twins comparison, it looks like an STX twin should only be ~0.44 seconds faster over a 60 second course than a C-Street twin. That seems a little off.

Coilovers, swaybars, headers, tune, 2" wider wheels, weight reduction should gain 0.44 easily.

I wonder how much of the C-Street's PAX is calculated off the times of the remaining cars in CS, instead of the Class times from last year with the MSR and ZOK in the mix.

Thanks for sharing Bill! And yes, the new C-Street PAX doesn't seem very advantageous compared to STX. Only a 0.06 difference? I could overcome that with 17x9 wheels and wider tires alone. I'd still have coilovers, full exhaust, bushings, and a tune to work with from there.

My other ride is a SS Lotus Elise and we didn't get much help there either. SS PAX is higher than STR by 0.05 and there is no freaking way a stock prepped Elise on street tires could out raw a well-prepped S2000.

That's way off from this years RTR CS pax of 0.813

7thgear 11-22-2013 03:58 PM

maybe their goals are to push people out of stock classes entirely so it's just the ST* classes left, huyk huyk huyk.

I would like to see how Rick Ruth came up with these adjustments. Given equal drivers and equal course, I don't think C-Street could ever be that close to STX...

DylanFRS 11-22-2013 08:10 PM

Totally ridiculous. I already know of a couple people that were planning to run Street but are going to run Street-R after seeing the new index. I can't wait until Nationals rolls around and the SEB is complaining about a lack of participation in the new Street classes... Maybe Rick isn't a big fan of the migration to street tires? Either way, thanks Rick!

Oh snap, someone at the SCCA forgot to tell Rick Ruth that stock classes are on street tires next year.

whataboutbob 11-23-2013 08:59 AM

SM: 0.867 to .870. Ouch. Gonna need r comps for sure now.

solort 11-26-2013 11:35 AM

For concrete especially, the Street PAX numbers are going to not be accurate to R compound classes. Go look at Nationals PAX for all classes and the highest finisher on street tires in RT or ST is not in top 100
