help with the 20mm spacer nuts
 

hi guys,

I bought the 20/25mm spacer of the vendor here.

I have a problem with the nuts that secure the bolts is actually doesn't flush flat with the spacer. the wheels Im going to use has the pocket back next to the lugs holes , but for some reason the nuts doesn't fit the pocket.

so I was wondering if I want to keep the wheels, I need to get a shorter nuts (12x1.25 acorn style nuts) or I can go with the 25mm, but I don't really want to go with the 25mm up front ...the tires poke too much.

any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would personally very carefully bore the little pockets behind the wheel out with a die grinder and a carbide bit. Just need to be careful enough to not to take too much material off and compromise the rigidity of the wheel.

yeah I think I can do that, but if I can get the shorter nut, I think it'll be better and safer too tho .

Lol, there's no way for OP to know how much is too much.

OP, there are only two solutions to your problem, the way I see it. One is that you replace all the OEM studs with extended studs, then run a 20mm slip on spacer. Two is that you just run different wheels that have pockets on the back pad to accommodate any nuts/studs that might be poking through.

Or get a thicker spacer ... My 25mm nuts sit flush within the spacer :)

Yeah, but you literally said in your first post that you don't want to go with the 25mm spacers up front lol.

i wouldnt touch the wheels just get smaller nuts. Cheapest easiest solution , good luck

Contact vendor you got the spacers from is where I'd start......

im contacting other vendors too, in case I can buy those nuts from them.

You could always dremmel grind the top corners of the nuts down, so they fit in the wheel pockets.

But finding a slightly shorter nut seems like the best solution. If you do, use some thread lock to help hold it in place.

I believe so too. the best solution would be finding the shorter nuts ...but couldn't find them anywhere ..:(

I don't think it really matters what vendor you buy spacers from, 20mm spacers are 20mm spacers. At least in the pics, it appears that even if the nuts were smaller, the studs would still poke through.

@Redstar i think hes saying there are holes that the studs fit into , but the nuts are too big . Im sure you can get at a autosupply- pepboys autozone etc . bring a ruler with you so u know theyll fit for sure. the thread should be 12x1.25 if im not mistaken, do a google search just to be sure.
