Ferrea Products on FI FA20

Is anyone who is boosted using their valvetrain parts?

King Tut 11-12-2013 03:06 PM

I don't know of anyone with a currently running engine that is using them. I know they have been used in a couple builds though.

My car being one of those builds

Are you NA or FI? How much boost are you running? Is it appropriate as a daily driver? Who did your build and for how much? How does it effect RPM, idle, and throttle response?

Do you have the street set or race set?

race

I'm debating whether or not I want to do internals. If only running FI, don't see the need. If pushing tons of HP, then I may see the need.

I'm FI and at 10psi,...previously at 20 psi. I feel 20 psi in this car is un-usable in that it changes a drivers car into a liability (crazy wheel spin every where on 245 tires). Unless you drag race, which to me defeats the purpose. Its a great DD, the valves are noisy,..you can definitely hear them,...it cured my idle dip problem at idle,.. I do feel its an improvement but the dyno didn't show it....AWD tuning in Flower Mound Texas did my build. Cost wise is irrelevant cause I went overkill in a lot of areas.

Ferrea is one of the best on the market. There is also REV and Supertech as well. I have chatted with Ferrea and will be working with them directly when we have a few engine builds in the future.

How are the valves noisy? Do you have an audio clip? Sorry if this is too many questions lol

cf6mech 11-14-2013 07:06 AM

No Audio clip,...not noisy in a bad sense i.e. annoying ,...but you definitely can hear the difference from stock.

I take it you've got some stronger springs fitted as well as the Ferrea valve?
do you know what laoding / precentage increase these were?

as the valve shouldn't be noisy on its own there must be a higher landing force due to a stronger spring

ft_sjo 11-14-2013 10:25 AM

Noisy valves?
