VSC and Traction control fuse location?
As the title say, I can't find the fuse location for the vcs/trac light. If anyone could help id appreciate it
|
i didnt know the LEDs had their own fuses...
|
Not the LED fuse because that's just the one for the gauge cluster as a whole, the one for the actual system

which you can't actually do by pulling a fuse.. well you can, but then you'll also lose ABS. So if you want to do the dirty, you pull the ABS fuse and everything will shut off. if you actually want to turn off just the VSC and Traction Control, you hold down the Traction Control button for 5 seconds until both yellow icons light up, you have disabled the VSC and TC but get to keep ABS. if you want this to be permanent, look up a DIY for a "switch", you'll have to cut into the cabling but it's not that difficult, this will override the need to hold the button down every time by actuating an on/off switch. bonus mode: "pedal dance" as all modern cars, even turning VSC and TC they are still actually "on" for the most extreme situations... there is a "secret" technique left from factory that actually disables all electronic nannies (but not ABS) but to do it you have follow a funny sequence of inputs please follow this thread for more detail. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25494 |
VSC and Traction control fuse location?
I was trying to turn off the vcs/trac lights from the button and it wouldn't let me. I have a check engine light from my header so when I went sliding yesterday the indicator that says you lost traction was held on in the gauge cluster. I just unplugged the battery and got rid of the CEL which turned the other light off. Now everything's cool. Thanks for all the info though

erm... i'd have that checked out

ABS, VSC, and speedo are all linked together tightly. The only way to truly disable them, as far as I know, is to replace the ECU with the Hydra EMS. Perhaps EcuTek or somebody will patch the ROM to allow it.
