Sub woofer setting.
 

I have the touch screen stereo. Can some one please tell me what the phase is for. You can take the phase in to the positive numbers or negative numbers. What doe the normal or reverse setting do as well for the sub?

The phase setting determines if the driver (the cone itself) will push or pull on a given input. This can have an effect depending on the order of enclosure (2nd order, 3rd order, 4th, 5th, and so on) by decreasing the deformation of the driver on a bass hit. Sub-woofers are meant to push outward and thus will deform less than when they are pulled inwards which means a cleaner and tighter bass hit.

I am running a 4th order (ported) tube sub wire in bridged mode from the amp. I got a noticeable increase in sound pressure when I reversed the sub input.

Some of the folks that were at the 86 Fiesta last week stuck their heads in my car with the volume up half-way up. I think they liked the sound :party0030:

Okay so I want to put by setting on reverse. Is that correct. Not understanding the order thou. What are you referring to ?

Sorry for the confusion. The order refers to the sub woofer enclosure. If you don't have a subwoofer (it would have to be a dealer add on or you would have to install it yourself) then the reverse does nothing for you. It just reverses the polarity of the signal going to the amp. Just like flipping a battery around backwards.
