Drop-in Air Filters?
I'm pretty sure someone already created a thread like this but I cant seem to find it anywhere.
So I'm looking into purchasing a drop in air filter but i can't decide on which one is "best." Just to be clear, I'm not going to be any serious driving, mostly DD. I am currently looking at the WORKS High-Flow Drop-In Filter. Is this any good? Would you recommend something else? Your help is greatly appreciated. thanks!!:w00t::w00t::w00t: |

I wouldnt trust WORKS at all since that whole spectacle. They had a huge thread with people arguing about it and they ignored people who questioned their claims. The filter according to other members here on these forums they say the filter may not filter as well either. Most of the aftermarket drop in filters perform the same. Just pick one that you like. Dry filters that are able to be cleaned dont perform as well as the oiled filters but with the oil filters you risk over oiling it and getting oil on your MAF. There are a couple threads with dyno's on the filters just do a search |
M7, Apexi, and HKS are the most sold at our store.

K&N worked for me, seems a little better on throttle response and deeper tone at higher RPM's. I think I paid about $36 on amazon. I'm sure you will see little to no difference from one drop in brand to another however.

Just about any performance oriented drop in will have a decent gain when compared to the thickly compressed paper filters our cars come with.

From what I've seen in our facility and while tuning, as long as the filters are dry, they usually do the same. There's no mythical filter that yields more than another.
And BTW, I did get to independently dyno test the WORKS filter. :) Bob @ Drift-Office, LLC |
