Uncool because of V8.

vividracing 10-25-2013 04:19 PM

I'm between cool and sub zero because BMW

Joakim3 10-25-2013 04:29 PM

The V8 killed it for me.... it essentially became a german muscle car, rather than a persition instrument the last M3 was before it

Burrcold 10-25-2013 04:32 PM

Bloated and lost it's way. Still cool to me though, only because it scared me when I drove it. That's gotta account for something.

serialk11r 10-25-2013 06:12 PM

I put sub-zero because carbon fiber roof and 8400rpm. Sure the V8 is too big and the overall weight increase is unacceptable, but at least the engine wasn't a stupid iron block S54 that was even heavier than the S65. Too bad the new M4 only revs to 7600 or so, I think this will be a classic!

Hate on a high revving V8?

Son, I am disappoint.

SUB-FT86 10-25-2013 07:06 PM

It has nothing in common with a big giant American/German V8. You guys are crazy!

Sadly, though, it's a crossplane V8, and not a flatplane :(

(Flatplane V8s are probably my favorite engine type)

I got beat to it...but if you want a flatplane V8, buy a Ferrari.

Purchase price doesn't tell the whole story. Maintenance is outrageous as well, and the reliability is nothing to write home about.
