Here in S. Florida we get love bugs on our cars constantly! What is the best way to remove them if you didnt get them off right away?:mad0260:

Use a special bug remover/degreaser to get them off, then replace the wax that was stripped by the degreaser with a sealant and thick coat of wax to get them off easier next time.

Dip a dryer sheet in your soap bucket, then use on front of car. Works like a charm

Have similar problems here in SC never thought about that. Gonna have to give it a whirl.

thoroughly wash your car. I just use a good touchless wash. Then proceed with this:

I've had many issues with bird poo and bug splats. This takes care of them EVERY time.

If you forego the wash, just let it soak a bit longer. Clean off and then wash later. Also removes tough residue left behind after repeated washes.

This works great. Also FYI I discovered this from a friend. Had a large drop of tree sap. If you spray the bug/tar remover let it soak for about 10 min. then boil some water dip ur car sponge/MIT in the hot water and it will come off in 1 swipe. And I had a drip that was about 1/2 an ich wide and 7-8 inches long right down the side of my door. Damn Oregon trees! I'm sure this trick would help if u have anything that's extra hard to get off.

I have to say I just used this for the first time today on bug stains from over a month ago (I've been lazy). I didn't think it'd work but it worked really well. The only thing that sucks is my arms are about to fall off from all the hard scrubbing. I was afraid to let it sit too long, does this kind of stuff damage paint if left on too long? I got a bug scrubber (sides) like below but am looking for something that requires less pressure.

+1 for the turtle wax stuff - I use it along with a "bug sponge" (GIS it) and it does a great job.

In my experience, Tarminator works better then Turtle's or RainX's products. Practically spray on and wipe off with relatively no dwell time.

dont buy those things...

2 dryer sheets
1 empty spray bottle
1 latex cleaning glove
water

fill the spray bottle with a bit of water and roll a dryer sheet and put in the spray bottle, let soak for 5 mins.

shake the solution and spray on liberally on the bug covered areas. let soak for a few seconds and use the 2nd dry sheet as a towel and rub them off... if there is still residue, spray again and work at it... it doesnt take much pressure to get them off... when ur done you might wanna rinse off the area with some clean water and dry... will look brand new.

total cost < $5.00

i did it today and it all came off with ease... took about 10 mins total

I try to get the bulk of it off initially while finishing up my regular wash, carefully not applying too much pressure, then i finish up with my regular soap and clay. It works great for me and doesn't leave any marring on the paint plus I really like that it it not very aggressive and its safe for the finish.
